Investigate the synthesis of C5 petroleum resin

At present domestic and international C5 petroleum resin are used catalytic polymerization process, the process is much the same, the difference lies in the choice of catalyst and removal methods. C5 petroleum resin synthesis is basically a cationic polymerization reaction.
When proton acid and Lewis acid are used as catalyst, only low molecular weight oily polymers can be obtained. The use of BF3 * ether as a catalyst, although the resin softening point has increased, but also low. This is because BF3 and C5 raw materials in the conjugated olefins produce linear polymerization, made of resin softening point is low or liquid. The catalytic ability of anhydrous AlCl3 is strong, and the resin with high molecular weight can be obtained. Especially because AlCl3 is easily cyclized with conjugated diene, the unsaturation is reduced and the formed resin has high softening point.
C5 fractional polymerization of petroleum resin by a number of reaction conditions, by a large number of exploratory tests, the authors believe that the composition of C5 raw materials (refining conditions) and the amount of catalyst and reaction temperature, pressure is the main influencing factors. Other factors such as catalyst type, feeding method, feeding temperature, washing method and vacuum distillation were considered as fixing factors. The influence of the above factors on the performance of C5 petroleum resin was investigated by orthogonal test. The results show that the main factors affecting the hue, softening point and yield of C5 petroleum resin are the heat polymerization pressure and the amount of catalyst. On the basis of orthogonal test, the optimum technological conditions for the formation of light petroleum resin were determined:
Heat polymerization temperature: 120 ~ 125 ¡æ;
Thermal pressure: 0.60 ~ 0.65 MPa;
Polymerization temperature: 20 ~ 25 ¡æ;
Catalyst mass fraction: 2.5% ~ 3.0%.
